What We’re Looking For

We’re not looking for content. We’re looking for perspective.

Technology moves quickly. Good writing should help people understand what actually matters. We are interested in contributors who can bring expertise, firsthand experience, original analysis, or a genuinely useful point of view to the conversation.

Original Thinking

Go beyond repeating what everyone else has already said. Bring your own analysis, experience, research, or perspective.

Practical Value

Give readers something they can understand, apply, investigate, or use in the real world.

Long-Term Value

We prefer work that remains useful after the news cycle has moved on. Substance matters more than speed.

Why Write With Us?

We want contributors to leave with more than a published URL. Here is what you gain.

📢

Built-in Promotion

Every article is shared across our social channels and other appropriate YTC distribution channels. We highlight contributors and help put their work in front of readers.

🎨

Professional Design

We create the final hero image, format your article beautifully, and handle the presentation. You focus on the ideas; we handle the publication experience.

🏆

Author Profile Page

Build a lasting author presence with a contributor bio, photo, relevant links, and a portfolio of your published work on Your Tech Compass.

🎯

Own Your Beat

✍️

Editorial Mentorship

Receive thoughtful feedback on structure, headlines, clarity, sourcing, and SEO. We want to help you become a stronger writer, not simply publish your draft.

🔗

Professional Attribution

Where appropriate, contributors may link to a relevant professional website, portfolio, LinkedIn profile, or other credible destination. Links are subject to editorial relevance and approval.

We are open to strong ideas outside these areas too, but these are our core editorial territories.

Editorial Guidelines

Quality over quantity. We want work that earns a place on the site and deserves a reader’s attention.

  • Original Work Only

We do not accept plagiarized or previously published articles. AI tools may assist your workflow, but you remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, analysis, sourcing, and final editorial quality of your work.

  • Data-Driven & Practical

Back important claims with statistics, credible research, case studies, documentation, or firsthand experience. Readers should leave with useful takeaways.

  • Conversational but Authoritative

Write like you are explaining something to a smart friend. Avoid unnecessary jargon. Be clear, useful, and confident.

  • Proper Attribution

Link to relevant sources, studies, documentation, and quotes. Use credible sources and avoid relying on low-quality blogs as primary evidence.

  • Formatting Matters

Use short paragraphs, useful subheadings, bullet points, examples, and other formatting that makes the article easy to scan on desktop and mobile.

  • Commercial Disclosure

Disclose employment, ownership, investment, affiliate relationships, sponsorships, or other conflicts of interest related to companies, products, or services discussed.

Frequently Asked

Are contributions paid?

Not currently. Your Tech Compass is a bootstrapped independent publication and cannot offer monetary compensation at this stage. What we offer instead is editorial support, professional design, promotion to our audience, an author profile, and a credible portfolio piece. As we grow, paid opportunities may open up for consistent contributors first.

Can I republish my article elsewhere?

We ask for a 30-day exclusive window after publication. After that, you may republish with a canonical link back to the original YTC post. This protects both your SEO and ours.

What happens after I submit a pitch?

Our editorial team reviews pitches within 48 hours. If approved, we will reply with an editorial brief, deadline details, and outline feedback to help you start writing.

Will I get a link to my website or profile?

Contributors can include relevant professional links such as a personal website, portfolio, LinkedIn profile, or other credible professional destination. Links are reviewed for relevance and editorial fit, and inclusion is at the discretion of Your Tech Compass.

Can I use AI when writing?

AI tools may assist your research or writing workflow, but the submitted work must reflect your own thinking and meet our editorial standards. Contributors remain fully responsible for accuracy, originality, sourcing, analysis, and the final quality of their work.
